I had thought that my relationship with contemporary music was over until clips of the track Back on 74 by Jungle at the Brit Awards started appearing on my Twitter and Instagram feeds. I have to say that I’m hooked and the performance at the awards as well as the tune has gotten me addicted. Just wonderful!
This video was really a surprise at how much I didn’t know about the system. The enlargement of thumbnails was shocking at how simple it was and how hidden it was to me.

This is an incredible video showing what was being developed in 1968. It just took over 20 years for mice to be considered normal on a computer. Video-conferencing much longer.
Another one of the skills that I am learning is editing video. Thanks to tutorials on YouTube, I managed to put the video above together as a start using Lumafusion on the iPad. I’m interested to see how this skill can develop in combination with going on bike rides around the city. It was just shot on a Samsung S9 and even though it uses slow motion, the footage is quite shaky. Going to try some other cameras for comparable results.
Japan is a fascinating place and I have loved visiting there. I would have loved to have lived there for a while but alas, it wasn’t possible. I’m thinking of going back there again this year. I just saw that James May of Top Gear fame has done a travel documentary on Amazon Video. I’m halfway through it and have really enjoyed it.
Loved the bits in Tokyo and Sendai so far.

I am loving this YouTube video about learning music theory. I got a midi keyboard for my 2019 challenge and have realised that there is a lot to learn to get to the point of making something good.
Such an entertaining and informative video about Finland. One correction however, the best ice-cream is Salmiakki and Lemon. Or sitruuna-lakritsi-jäätelöä. Mmmmm.
